Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch has its own share of cheat codes. Note that these cheats can only be entered if playing in Story Mode, a skirmish game, or on a cheat server (sv_cheats 1).
Doom Cheat Codes
As Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch runs on Zandronum, a modification of the Doom source code, most of the standard cheat codes from Doom work. These should be typed while playing, and not in the console prompt.
|iddqd||Refills the player's health and gives invincibility, known as God Mode. Note that certain instant kill effects can kill a player even in God Mode, such as telefragging, Quick Man's laser beams, or being crushed by either the Metool Daddy or Gamma.|
|idclip||Toggles noclipping on, allowing the player to move through walls and other objects.|
|iddt||Automap cheat; typing once on the automap shows all walls, typing again shows all walls and entities, typing for a third time resets the automap to normal.|
|idkfa||Gives all weapons, and gives the player armour (shown by the health gauge turning grey).|
|idfa||Same as idkfa.|
|idmypos||Shows player's coordinates.|
These cheats are entered in the console prompt, accessed by pressing ` on the keyboard or through the options menu.
|summon *||Summons an entity ingame, replacing the * with the entity name (see below).|
|fly||Allows the player to fly.|
|noclip||Allows the player to move through walls and entities.|
|god||Enables God Mode. Note that certain instant kill effects can kill a player even in God Mode, such as telefragging, Quick Man's laser beams, or being crushed by either the Metool Daddy or Gamma.|
|map *||Changes to the map, replace the * with the mapcode (such as MM1CUT) to specify.|
|changemap *||Displays the results and changes to the map, replace the * with the mapcode (such as MM1CUT) to specify.|
|nextmap||Goes to next map.|
|kill||Kills the player.|
|sv_fastweapons 1||Speeds up the weapons, with 0 being default. Using Drill Bomb will freeze the game in versions v2c and before.|
|sv_infiniteammo 1||Allows infinite ammo for most weapons, with 0 being default. This does not work in Story Mode, trying to do so will result in the message "DMFlags cannot be changed during a campaign.".|
|crashout||Instantly crashes Zandronum.|
|give lmsinvincible||Super God Mode that protects from everything, including those that regular God Mode doesn't. Using Skull Barrier will overide this. It should be noted that certain entities will ignore the player while using this.|
|puke 998 #||Change weapon colour scheme. Replace the "#" with a number|
|saveprogress #||Change Story Mode status. Replace the "#" with a number (see below).|
|mdk||Kills the person you are pointing your crosshair at.|
These names are used for the summon command.
